New Date...New Date Just announced Thursday, October 1, 2009
ROBIN WILLIAMS is returning to the road to resume his “Weapons of Self-Destruction” comedy tour after postponing his April 17 show at the Morris to undergo heart surgery. “Weapons” launched in September 2008 and played to rave reviews and sold out crowds. As the tour continues, WILLIAMS will unleash his “Weapons” on South Bend at The Morris. For fans who purchased tickets to the previously postponed April 17 show at The Morris, those tickets will be honored for the rescheduled engagement. Refunds for sold tickets for the April 17 date will be available up to August 13, 2009. The announcement comes on the day of ROBIN’s highly anticipated return to the scene with a May 13 appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and on the eve of the May 14 world premiere of Twentieth Century Fox Films’ “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,” in which WILLIAMS reprises his role as ‘Teddy Roosevelt’. That film is set for release on May 22.
“I’m so touched by everyone’s support and well-wishes,” says Williams. This tour has been amazing fun and I can’t wait to get back out on the road after a little tune up.”
WILLIAMS last toured in 2002 when he returned to the stand-up scene after a sixteen year hiatus. The sold-out tour earned the distinction of being one of the highest-grossing comedy tours in history and culminated in a final performance filmed by HBO and broadcast live from New York City. The resulting July 2002 HBO broadcast, “Robin Williams: Live on Broadway,” was nominated for five Emmy® awards.
